Carobana Factory Visit

By

We weren’t able to go away these school holidays so we thought we’d do a few touristy things in our own town.

So when I suggested to my boys we go visit Carobana Factory they jumped at the chance! I mean, how could you say no?

Carobana is located on James Small Drive at Korora and has been there since 1982. You might’ve seen Carobana products stocked in a lot of local shops but if you’ve never visited the factory it’s well worth the visit!

They are open Monday – Saturday 10am-4pm but the best time to visit is Monday – Thursday during the morning when they sre in production.

We watched peanut brittle and rocky road being made and chocolate honeycomb being covered in chocolate then sent on a 45 metre “cooling tunnel”. The best thing was when we were given a small sample of freshly made peanut brittle. We also had a chance to sample some other products in the retail shop and make some purchases.

The staff there were very friendly and helpful, loved to explain what they were doing and how things were made and answer any questions.

Best of all, it is free to visit but make sure you take some money to buy some goodies!

You can find out more about Carobana on their website or visit their Facebook page.
