Beaches

Jetty Beach is built is the best kid and family friendly beach in Coffs Harbour. It is not patrolled, but as it is in the harbour it is very sheltered and does not often have any (or very small) waves. This is where we always went with my family when we were kids. Very close to the marina (fish and chip co-op, cafe and ice-cream shop) and reserve where the kids playgrounds are.

There is also the creek further back from where it enters the ocean, it is usually pretty calm and has some shallow sections depending on the tide.

There are a number of beaches patrolled on the Coffs Coast during summer. Park Beach is Coffs Harbour’s most patrolled beach, 7 days a week starting in September. Has the Surf Club very close, and a playground nearby with BBQ facilities.

Diggers a good surfing beach, also patrolled during summer. Great walk over the Headland from Diggers to MacCauleys Beach. Has reserve with playground and BBQ facilities.

Sawtell is a great beach, close to the main street and amenities.

Boambee Creek (on the way to Sawtell) is a great place for a family picnic or BBQ, has a playground, small shop and excellent undercover area. Great creek area for exploring and can also walk over to the beach. Please note: if you drive your car down there is a charge for entering.

Moonee has a great estuary for exploring and you can walk over the water or the pathway to the beach. Has a great BBQ area as well, and a nice walk over the headland. Shop nearby and a caravan park.

Woolgoolga has a gorgeous beach which is usually quite protected. Great playground overlooking the beach, with excellent BBQ facilities and shops/cafes nearby.
