Competition Countdown #5 – Kombu Wholefoods

In no particular order Coffs for Kids will be doing a ‘competition countdown’ of all the businesses who have very generously donated a prize in our huge photo competition. There are 25 prizes in total and Kombu Wholefoods at Bellingen has donated a $25 gift voucher.

The countdown continues at business #5 – Kombu Wholefoods.

Other than a couple of smaller shops in town, it is a sad fact in Coffs Harbour there are not a lot of options when it comes to a variety of good quality organic food. When my two boys first started eating solids I decided to give them the best chance of giving them almost 100% organic or biodynamic food, whether it be meat, pasta, grains, fruit or vegetables.

So Kombu Wholefoods at Bellingen has become a regular trip for us. We love Bellingen anyway, so it is really just a good excuse to go out there more often!

Kombu has been at the end of Hyde St, Bellingen (near the war memorial) for just over 6 years. Part of the Kombu mission statement sums them up perfectly:

“We aim to bring you the finest quality bulk wholefoods, to delight your taste buds and nourish your body. Where possible we will source regional produce because it is fresher, more affordable, supports the community and is more sustainable for the environment.”

Kombu have a really good Mother/Baby section in store where you can get everything from Holle baby good, eco nappies such as Moltex and Biobaby and other products for baby from Baby Organics and Nature’s Child if you don’t want to put nasty chemicals and alcohol onto your baby’s skin.

Kombu has a great selection of organic meat, other dry goods and fresh fruit and veg. What I also love about Kombu is the fantastic bulk foods section where you can buy as little or as much as you want of dried fruit, grains, pulses, cereals, herbs and spices, nuts, teas and lots of other things. For those who have food intolerance, a visit to Kombu is a must to find alternates to suit your diet.

If you never visited Kombu Wholefoods then take a little drive out to gorgeous Bellingen. You can also order online from .
