Our visit to Big4 Sunshine – South West Rocks (Part 2)

By

Earlier this week I posted about our visit to Big4 Sunshine – South West Rocks (Part 1) and all about our fantastic luxury cabin.

So here is Part 2, more about the Big 4 park and South West Rocks in general.

While it rained or drizzled a lot most of the weekend we were there, it didn’t seem to matter that much as there is heaps to do at Big4 Sunshine which is indoors or undercover, such as the MASSIVE jumping pillow, suitable for both adults and kids:

The jumping pillow and adjacent kids playground is under huge awnings.

And according to my 8 year old “this is the most awesome jumping pillow EVER!”

My 4yr old loved “Tiny Town”.

Here is the fantastic games room which includes a movie room and shows kids movies continuously  (which also played on the TV in our room as well).

Here is the awesome looking “Sharkeys” putt putt which we managed to play when the rain held off.

And even though we didn’t quite make it for a swim, the heated pool area and gorgeous waterfall spa cave looked so pretty!

There are loads of other activities: BBQ area, camp kitchen, indoor jumping castle for 3-7yr olds, volleyball court, half court tennis court, bike & canoe hire, pedal cart hire, internet kiosk, WiFi, Kids Club during school holidays and fairy garden.

Don’t forget you can find out more and book online on the Big4 Sunshine website: www.big4southwestrocks.com.au

And the other things we got up to in and around South West Rocks:

We went and checked out the goal at Arakoon, a must-do place to visit! The kids loved it, my 8 year old was particularly fascinated. And again, kangaroos hang out there, complete with little joeys!

We also took a drive up to Smokey Cape and visited the lighthouse up there. The kids loved it, their first up-close visit to a real lighthouse! The view was spectacular and there are lots of picnic tables and BBQ areas.

And another place to explore is Little Bay, where we had a little show-down with some more kangaroos. Well, not really – but we were on their path.

The staff at Big 4 Sunshine are super-friendly and helpful, and the lovely Lisa suggested we visit the local Surf Club for dinner. This was our view – pretty amazing! The food was awesome and the drinks were cheap – definitely recommend it!

You can find out more about the area by visiting the Visit NSW website.

As we were leaving South West Rocks my 4 year old asked “Mummy, can we come and live here again?” – the kids can’t wait to go back and neither can I!
