The Clunkertons and the New Beginning

There was a bit of excitement in the back seat of my car this week after I was given the third Clunkertons book “The Clunkertons and the New Beginning” – literally hot off the press!
Local author, Robyn McLennan gave me a copy and my 7 year old fast became absorbed reading it cover to cover twice in the back of the car as we drove home.
I wrote a review back in August on the first two Clunkertons books you can read here.
Once again local cartoonist Jules Faber has done an exceptional job illustrating the book with outstanding pictures like this:
In The New Beginning one of the Clunkertons, Cler, finds herself separated from Sunnybank Creek and her beloved Clunkertons. After being rescued by a brave little turtle, Cler is found with the help of a large group of very friendly Kookaburras and reunited with her Clunkie family. But not before an exciting discovery is made: Cler finds another Clunkerton family: “The moment was magical! The Clunkterons were jumping with joy, greeting each toeher as clunkies do with all the gusto of grunting, thumping and bumping into each other”
All three Clunkerton books are a delight to read, with a unique and interesting story and adventure in each of the books and of course, gorgeously illustrated. I would definitely recommend adding these books to your family library. What makes these books even more special is that they are written and illustrated by Coffs Harbour locals!
Robyn will be selling her books this weekend at the Made with love Markets, on Sunday 2nd December from 9am-2pm at C.ex Coffs Vernon Street. They will be $15 each or all 3 for the special price of $40.
